About this category

This category measures one tier of the weekly player pool, shown as a skill score where 0 is a random order of that tier and 100 is perfect: the top eight tight ends, taken from the FantasyPros consensus order captured before kickoff, never from results. Within that tier we compare each ranker's own order of those players with how they actually finished, so a ranker isn't rewarded for getting the obvious top names right. In a 12-team league these are the weekly starters, and tight end scoring is so concentrated that ordering them well is often the difference in a matchup.

A ranker must include at least 75% of the tier in a given week for that week to count, and needs six scored weeks to appear. The FantasyPros consensus is shown as the benchmark rather than ranked. Gaps of a point or two are common between good rankers, so look at the trend across weeks as well as the season average.

Which players count as top tight ends?
The eight tight ends ranked highest by the FantasyPros consensus before kickoff each week.
Why only eight?
Few leagues start more than one tight end, and outside the top eight weekly scoring is close to random.
